Welcome to GWS Engineering & Construction

GWS Engineering and Construction (GWS) previously know as Goodwill Welding Solutions, is an Australian family operated business with over 17 years of experience. GWS has a factory workshop located in Minto NSW, approximately 50 km south west of Sydney, 15 minutes drive from Sydney’s Hume Motorway as well as the equipment and transportation to get out on your site to get the job done. Our scope of work and experience is focused in the construction and engineering industries, providing excellent service, quality and reliable workmanship in all tasks undertaken.

Our team are experts in building industry compliant documentation including quality, environment, traceability, sustainability and occupational health and safety management.

Project Engineer

GWS employs project engineers with significant industry experience, managing all technical aspects of the project. Our engineers liaise with the client, contractors and factory. They coordinate their time in both the factory and onsite, overseeing all aspects of the job. Our project engineers guarantee the job is completed on schedule and on budget, whilst ensuring safety.

Project Management

The GWS project management team supervises every step in the project, ensuring delivery in a timely fashion. GWS’ origins began at the bottom of the chain in construction and understands what it takes to manage a project to completion.

Project Estimation

Our experienced estimation team assemble detailed quotes that accurately reflect the cost of documentation/methods, design, drafting, fabrication and installation of a wide range of projects.

Structural Steel

GWS are experts in structural steel who produce high quality results. We have fabricated and installed large structures for state infrastructure projects for both rail and road.

Surveying/Setout

We can geolocate drawings and designs to the terrain, and generate accurate surveys required for site work.

Drafting and Design

GWS is proficient in drafting your specific requirements and utilising it as part of the design and fabrication process. Our dedicated draftsman work with plan drawings to create 3D structures and environments.

Blasting and Painting

GWS has the ability to do perform all blasting and painting in house. This ensures a guaranteed quality result every time. Performing surface coat protection in-house means we can paint all jobs big or small, with fast turnaround and minimum wait.

Balustrades

GWS has a great wealth of experience delivering quality handrails and stainless detail. We have many examples of the attention to detail required to produce a high quality result.

Core Drilling

GWS is capable of core cutting and drilling upto 500mm in diameter and depths of up to 1m with minimum mess.

Onsite Fabrication

GWS team of welders can operate on site in all conditions. We can work in clean environments with minimum mess and little tidying up required.

Rail Corridor

GWS Engineering and Construction have a wealth of experience of working within the Rail Corridor, including and up to fabrication and installation of large steel structures. As rail is considered critical national infrastructure, access within the Rail Corridor is highly regulated. Our company maintains its ongoing safety and legal requirements when working in such a challenging environment.

Our Projects

Productivity improvements can come from many different areas in the total fabrication process, e.g. general design, detailed design, contract drawings, CNC instructions, cutting and profiling, welding, inspection, finishing etc.

It needs to be realised that optimising the welding process and procedure in isolation may have only a small effect on overall productivity.

Productivity improvements could also come from greater standardisation in steel specifications and in joint details and from modularisation of large structures to reduce the time spent on site fabrication and erection.

  • Weld metal parts, fill holes, indentions, or seams of metal products using hand-held metal joining equipment.
  • Studying blueprints, sketches, or specifications.
  • Calculating dimensions to be welded.
  • Inspecting structures or materials to be welded.
  • Maintain equipment and machinery.
  • Compared to riveting or bolting, welded structures tend to be stronger, lighter-weight and cheaper to produce.
